জীবন শিক্ষা পরিষদ পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে আপনাদের সকলকে আমাদের শুভেচ্ছা জানাই !

আপনারা সকলেই জানেন বর্তমানে শিশু-শিক্ষা-বিজ্ঞানীরা সকলেই এই বিষয়ে একমত , যে কোনোও শিশু যদি প্রাথমিক স্তর থেকেই গণিত বিষয়টিকে সহজ সুন্দরভাবে শিশু মনোবিজ্ঞান সম্মত উপায়ে শেখে তাহলে তার মননের ধারণ ক্ষমতার  সঠিক বিকাশ সম্ভব হয়। 

 ফলে

১) সে সমস্ত বিষয়কেই সঠিক ভাবে শেখার ক্ষমতা লাভ করে 

২) শিশুর মধ্যে চিন্তা ভাবনা করার ক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি লাভ করে যা শিশুর সামগ্রিক বিকাশ লাভের পথকে সুগম করে তোলে ! 

আবার শিশু বিজ্ঞানীরা এটাও দেখেছেন সারা পৃথিবীর মতো এদেশেও বেশিরভাগ শিশুই অঙ্কে দুর্বল !

তার কারণ এটাই যে শিশুকে সঠিকভাবে গণিতের বিষয়গুলি শেখানো হয় না , বা তারা সুযোগ পায় না !

 এই পটভূমিতে, হাতে-কলমে কাজের মাধ্যমে খেলার ছলে শিশুদের ঠিক কীভাবে গণিত শিক্ষার বুনিয়াদি ধাপ গুলি শেখানো সম্ভব তার অসাধারণ নমুনা আছে বর্তমানে  পশ্চিমবঙ্গের প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের শিশুদের জন্য নির্মিত গণিত বইগুলিতে । যা নির্মিত হয় ২০১২ সালে।

শিশুকে কীভাবে যোগ বিয়োগ গুন ভাগ থেকে শুরু করে ভগ্নাংশ লসাগু গসাগু থেকে শুরু করে ক্ষেত্রফল কিংবা বীজগাণিতিক নানা বিষয় হাতে কলমে কাজের মাধ্যমে শেখানো যায় তাই নিয়ে আমরা কিছু বিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র ছাত্রীদের নিয়ে গভীরভাবে কিছু কাজ করে চলেছি !

দেশে লকডাউন ঘোষণায় স্কুল বন্ধ হওয়ার পর ২০২০ সালের জুন মাসের ১৬ তারিখ থেকে টেলিভিশনের মাধ্যমে মূলত: প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের জন্য আমরা ক্লাসের ব্যবস্থা করি, যা দেখা যেত Siti Care চ্যানেল এ সারা পশ্চিমবঙ্গ থেকে।

বর্তমানে স্কুল খোলার পর সপ্তাহে দুই দিন ক্লাস গুলি পরিবেশিত হচ্ছে Malda Today চ্যানেলে ( Siti Cable ) এর ৩০৪ নং চ্যানেলে ৷

কারন আমরা দেখেছি বহু শিশু আছে যাদের বাড়িতে এন্ড্রয়েড ফোন নেই কিন্তু অন্তত একটা টিভি কানেকশন আছে। 

এবং অনেকেই আছেন  যাঁরা আমাদের বলেছেন এই অনুষ্ঠান যাতে আমরা বন্ধ না করি !

মূলত তাদের জন্যই বন্ধুদের আর্থিক সহযোগিতায়  টিভিতে ক্লাস গুলো দেখানোর পর তা তোলা থাকছে Jeevan Shiksha নামের ইউটিউব চ্যানেলে।

নানা বিষয়ে বিভিন্ন বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকাদের পাশাপাশি ক্লাস নিচ্ছেন বেশ কিছু  বিশেষজ্ঞ চিকিৎসক , মনোবিদ, মনোবিজ্ঞানী, বিজ্ঞানী , কৃষক, সাহিত্যিক, নাট্য কর্মী , মৃৎশিল্পী সহ সমাজের বিভিন্ন স্তরের মানুষ।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের সরকারি স্কুলের বাংলা মাধ্যমের গণিত বই এ উল্লেখিত নানা উন্নত পদ্ধতি মালা অনুসরণ করে গণিতের নানা বিষয় হাতে-কলমে শেখানোর যে ক্লাস গুলি তৈরি হচ্ছে , তা নানা  “নামিদামী ”  শিক্ষা অ্যাপ এর থেকে  বহু গুণে উন্নত মানের ।

ছোট্ট একটা উদাহরণ দিই।

১৫ এবং ১২ এর লসাগু যে ৬০ তা শিশুরা আক্ষরিক অর্থেই ছুঁয়ে শিখতে পারবে।

এভাবে যোগ বিয়োগ গুন ভাগ ভগ্নাংশ দশমিক লসাগু গসাগু ইত্যাদি গণিতের প্রাথমিক সমস্ত বিষয় শিশুরা শিখতে পারবে কাঠি, নুড়িপাথর, কাগজ ইত্যাদি সহজলভ্য শিক্ষা উপকরণ ব্যবহার করে এবং অবশ্যই হাতে কলমে বুঝে বুঝে !

প্রতিটি প্রক্রিয়া যে হাতে-কলমে করে বোঝা সম্ভব তা আমরা তুলে ধরছি আমাদের ক্লাস গুলোতে।

এই কারণেই আমাদের আসরের নাম আমরা রেখেছি 

খেলতে খেলতে লেখাপড়া পড়তে পড়তে খেলা!

অথচ দুঃখজনক হলেও সত্যি এই বিষয়গুলি নিয়ে চর্চা খুব কম বিদ্যালয়েই বর্তমানে হচ্ছে।

আবার বেশ কিছু বিদ্যালয়ের আগ্রহী শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকা এই বিষয়গুলি নিয়ে ওয়ার্কশপ এর আয়োজন করার কথা আমাদের জানিয়েছেন।

আবার আপনারা এও জানেন হাতে-কলমে বিজ্ঞান শিক্ষার এবং বিজ্ঞান জনপ্রিয় করনের পথিকৃৎ, বিড়লা ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল এন্ড টেকনোলজিক্যাল মিউজিয়াম এর প্রাক্তন অধিকর্তা ও বিখ্যাত বিজ্ঞান অনুষ্ঠান কোয়েস্ট এর পরিচালক মাননীয় সমর বাগচী মহাশয় দীর্ঘদিন ধরে হাতে-কলমে সামান্য উপকরণ সহযোগী কিভাবে বিজ্ঞান শেখা যায় শেখানো যায় তাই নিয়ে সারা জীবন কাজ করে গেছেন। তিনিও তার মূল্যবান কিছু ক্লাস আমাদের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের জন্য উপহার দিয়েছেন যা আমরা রেকর্ড করে রেখেছি।

আমরা মনে করছি আমাদের সকলের শ্রদ্ধেয় সমর বাগচী স্যারের এই কাজগুলোকে আরো ছড়িয়ে দিতে এমন একটি প্রতিষ্ঠান প্রয়োজন যেখানে স্যার 

যেভাবে বিজ্ঞান শেখানোর জন্য যে যে উপকরণ ব্যবহার করতেন তার  নমুনা গুলি থাকবে। 

সেই উপকরণ গুলি কীভাবে ব্যবহার করতে হয় সেই সংক্রান্ত ওয়ার্কশীট ও ভিডিও থাকবে এবং

বছরের কিছু নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে সেই সংক্রান্ত প্রশিক্ষণ শিবির ধারাবাহিকভাবে আয়োজন করার ব্যবস্থা থাকবে।

উক্ত উপকরণ গুলি সকলের কাছে সহজলভ্য করে তুলতে হবে।

 আবার হাতে-কলমে গনিত ও বিজ্ঞান  শিক্ষার যে বিষয়গুলি জীবন শিক্ষা পরিষদ ভিডিও কনটেন্ট হিসেবে তৈরী করে চলেছে এবং রাধানগর বোর্ড প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় এ প্রয়োগ করছে সেগুলি পরিকল্পিত ও সুসজ্জিত আকারে একটি বৃহৎ কক্ষে  মিউজিয়াম আকারে যদি রাখা থাকে তাহলে তাকে ঘিরে বহুমুখী পরিকল্পনা আমরা নিতে পারি।

এমতাবস্থায় জীবন শিক্ষা পরিষদ একটি  গণিত ও বিজ্ঞান শিক্ষার প্রচার ও প্রসারের লক্ষ্যে একটি মিউজিয়াম গড়ে তোলার পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে।

Dear friend, 

On behalf of the Jeevan Shiksha Parishad family, we wish you all the best! As you all know, child-education-scientists all agree that if any child learns mathematics from the elementary level in a simple and child-friendly way, then the proper development of his mental capacity is possible.

As a result,

 1) He acquires the ability to learn all subjects correctly 

2) The ability to think in the child increases, which makes the overall development of the child easy! 

Again, child scientists have also seen that like the rest of the world, most children in this country are weak in numbers! 

That is because children are not taught maths properly, or they don't get the opportunity!

Against this backdrop, the mathematics textbooks currently prescribed for primary school children in West Bengal are excellent examples of how children can be taught the basic steps of mathematics through hands-on play. This was introduced in 2012. 

We have been doing some in-depth work with the students of some schools on how to teach a child from addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, HCF, LCM, squares, areas, or algebraic subjects through hands-on training. 

For your information, after the closure of schools due to the lockdown in the country, from 16th June 2020, we conducted classes mainly for primary school students via television, which were seen from all over West Bengal on Siti Care channel. At present the classes are being broadcast on Malda Today Channel (Siti Cable) Channel No. 304 after the restoration of the schools. Because we have seen that there are many children who don't have an Android phone at home but at least have a TV connection.

And there are many who told us not to discontinue this program! Basically for them, with the financial support of friends, after showing the classes on TV, they are uploaded on YouTube channel named Jeevan Shiksha. In addition to the teachers of various schools, several expert doctors, psychologists, scientists, farmers, writers, theater workers, potters and people from different walks of life are taking classes.

The classes that are being created to teach various subjects of mathematics hands-on by following the various advanced methods mentioned in the Bengali medium math book of West Bengal Government schools, are many times better than the various "famous" education apps. 

Let me give a small example. 

Children can literally learn by touch that LCM of 15 and 12 is 60.

Thus addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, HCF, LCM etc., children can learn all basic maths using sticks, pebbles, paper, etc. We present in our classes that every process can be understood hands-on. This is why we named our event 

"Khelte khelte pora, porte porte khela" 

( Let's learn while playing, lets have fun while studying! ) 

But unfortunately, these issues are actually practiced in very few schools at present. And some interested teachers of several schools told us about organizing workshops on these issues.

Again, you also know that the pioneer of hands-on science education and popularization of science, the former director of Birla Industrial and Technological Museum and the director of the famous science program Quest, Hon'ble Samar Bagchi Sir has been a long-time supporter of hands-on science learning and how to teach science. He worked through all his life. He also gifted some of his precious classes to our students which we have recorded.

We feel that we all need an organization to spread these works of respected Samar Bagchi Sir where there will be samples of the materials he used to teach science. There will be worksheets and videos on how to use those materials and arrangements will be made to organize training camps in that regard at certain times of the year.

The materials should be made available to all. Again, the subjects of hands-on maths and science education which are being made by Jeevan Shiksha Parishad as video content and are being implemented in Radhanagar Board Primary School, if they are kept in a large room in the form of a museum in a planned and well-equipped form, then we can take a multi-faceted plan around it. 

In such a situation, Jeevan Shiksha Parishad has planned to build a museum with the aim of promoting and spreading mathematics and science education.
